Initial

Consultation

 

1:1 60-minute consultation with Cushla.


  • Upon booking confirmation you will receive a link to complete an online pre-consultation form.


  • In-depth review including historical and current health, blood tests, medications, supplements, typical eating patterns and nutritional intake, current training or exercise, and your specific performance or health goals.


  • Together we construct realistic goals, strategies and plans to achieve your desired outcome tailored to your lifestyle.


  • After the initial consultation you receive an email with a detailed consultation summary including everything discussed, your key strategies and a plan moving forward alongside relevant resources, recipes and guides.


  • In-person consultations are held at Sports Doctors, Level 1, 136 Moorehouse Avenue, Christchurch, weekly on Thursdays, or at Flow Studio, 131 Barkers Road, Methven (limited availability).


  • Zoom appointments are held on Tuesday's (including evenings) and Wednesday's.

Follow Up Consultation

 

1:1 30-minute follow-up consultation with Cushla


  • For best outcomes longer-term, it is strongly encouraged to expect a minimum of 2 - 3 follow ups after the initial consultation depending on your needs.


  • This is where the real change starts to happen with ongoing modification, education and refinement of strategies tailored to your  health, performance and lifestyle goals.


  • Continued accountability, support and education.


  • Race day nutrition plans as required (additional cost).

Nourish your potential with the online Runner's Nutrition Course

 

This course has been designed so that more people can get nutrition guidance any place, any time, at their own pace. This course is best suited to adult runners partaking in events from their first ever 5km right up to elite marathon. It is ideal for athletes that have considered working with a sports dietitian but haven’t committed yet, as it will educate you on all the core foundations to being a stronger runner. You can finish the course with confidence and tools to integrate into your own training and then work on your weaknesses before deciding if you still require 1:1 support.

FAQ

Can I claim my appointments with health insurance?

Whether you can claim the cost of your dietitian appointments depends on your insurance provider and the coverage of your specific policy. It’s best to check with your provider before booking an appointment. Please note, some policies require a specialist referral.

 

Are blood tests required before working with you?

While blood tests aren’t required, having recent results can be very useful. You can fill in any relevant test results on the pre-consultation form or bring them with you to your appointment. If you need blood tests and they are clinically recommended, we can coordinate with your referring specialist or GP to arrange them.

 

Is everything we discuss confidential?

 

Yes, confidentiality is a top priority. I will always obtain your consent before sharing any information with other health professionals involved in your care. Paper notes and identifiable details are securely destroyed after each session, and electronic records are stored on a password-protected laptop. Please note that there is always a small risk when sharing electronic information through email, Zoom, or other platforms.

 

How many appointments will I need?

As each person is so individual, it really depends. Some people requiring some simple fine-tuning may only require an initial consultation followed by 1 - 2 follow ups, whereas more complex cases require many months of regular support. For best outcomes, I recommend a minimum of two follow ups after the initial consultation.
